I've always envied people who have faith. I've met people who have been through all sorts of trials and tribulations in their life and yet they smile more often than I do. I asked them before, what is it that gives them the strength to get through the day and they answer: "Faith." These friends of mine believe in the existence of God. They believe that God will not give them problems that do not have a solution. They believe that God will not make a lock without making a key to unlock it. Most of all, they believe that no matter how bad things get, God will always be by their side and help them navigate through their sea of problems. I wish I had faith like that.
If I did, then I will feel less pain.

every faith in the world is based on fabrication. That is the definition of faith - acceptance of that which we imagine to be true, that which we cannot prove. Every religion describes God through metaphor, allegory and exaggeration, from the early Egyptians through modern Sunday school. Metaphors are a way to help our minds process the unprocessible. the problems arise when we begin to believe literally in our own metaphors.
Religious allegory has become a part of the fabric of reality. And living in that reality helps millions of people cope and be better people.
